Florida Repossessed Homes

florida

Florida State is in the southern part of USA – it being a peninsula that probes into the sea. On the east is the Atlantic Ocean and on the west the Gulf of Mexico. It has a humid sub-tropical climate that has attracts many to its sunny beaches. Florida has 131 public airports and over 700 private ones including airstrips, heliports and seaplane landing bases. The numbers speak of the prosperity of the place but unfortunately the Sunshine State is suddenly covered with the gloomy clouds of Florida Repossessed homes.

The prosperity of Florida caused a high demand for housing. This led to a housing and construction boom that was fed and fueled by easy loan money flowing in from sub-prime mortgages. But due to many factors the boom burst. This led to the foreclosure crisis and consequently to the spike in the number of Florida Repossessed homes. Most of the foreclosed houses are failing to be sold in the court auction and are flooding the market with Florida Repossessed homes. The lenders are not landlords and they want to sell off the Florida Repossessed homes but cannot find buyers. In many instances the real estate market has fallen to such low levels that the value of Florida Repossessed homes is less than the loan amount.

By Florida Repossessed homes are meant those houses that have been foreclosed upon by the lenders but fail to get sold at the Sheriff’s auction. These are then repossessed by the banks and become Florida Repossessed homes. The banks now independently try to find buyers for the Florida Repossessed homes after doing the necessary repairs and giving a face-lift to these Florida Repossessed homes. With countless units on their hands the banks are not able to give due attention to all the Florida Repossessed homes. As such these lie empty and unoccupied. The vacant Florida Repossessed homes pose another kind of problem by attracting crime and disease. The stagnant pools of the Florida Repossessed homes become breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Vandals, drug pushers and prostitutes set up temporary camps in Florida Repossessed homes spreading fear and insecurity in the locality. With sales not picking up the local governments lose out on revenue. This leaves them ill equipped to tackle with increasing problems related to Florida Repossessed homes. This has caused the government and communities at all levels to tackle the problem of Florida Repossessed homes.

Angelo Castillo of Broward County Planning Council bemoaned that foreclosures are changing the quality of their lives “and it’s alarming.”

During the second quarter of this year the foreclosure numbers increased in Florida. California and Florida accounted for 39% of all the foreclosures that have started and 73% of all the numbers that have increased from the first and second quarters. It can definitely be said that these two states definitely have not reached the worst point. Unless these two jumbo states show signs of improvement the overall national picture will continue to be cloudy.
